The call's come from Dr Ted Weaver the president of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. It follows a statement by obstetricians and gynaecologists who say they don't support ritual nicking of some young Muslim girls. The procedure described as similar to an ear-piercing has been proposed as a safer alternative to ceremonial cutting done without medical supervision.
